SEM 21013, Solaray Headlight Lens Clear Coat is a U.V. cured aerosol clear coating designed to improve clarity, appearance, durability and light output of hazy, yellowed, or oxidized of plastic headlight lens. Solaray Headlight Lens Clear Coat exhibits great adhesion, durability and U.V. resistance while improving the functionality of the headlight lens.

TYPICAL PROPERTIES
- Cure time: 2 -3 minutes using Solaray UV Curing Lamp
- Film Build: .5 - .75 mil
- Coverage: ~ 1900 in²/can – 2 coats
PREPARATION: FOR HEADLIGHT REPAIR
- Wash surface with SEM Soap and a gray scuff pad. Rinse with water and dry.
- Clean with Plastic & Leather Prep or Zero VOC Surface Cleaner.
- Sand the surface with 400 grit paper to remove the factory coating. Removing the factory coating is critical for proper adhesion.
- Sand further using increasingly finer grit sandpaper, finishing with 1500 grit or finer. Example: P400 – P800 – P1500.
- Re-clean with Plastic & Leather Prep or Zero VOC Surface Cleaner and wipe dry.
FOR USE AS CLEARCOAT
- Clean with SEM Solve or Zero VOC Surface Cleaner.
- Prep panel and apply basecoat according to manufacturer instructions
- Allow basecoat to dry completely
Note: Use of Solaray UV Clearcoat should be limited to complete panels only.
APPLICATION:
- Mask off areas to protect from overspray.
- Shake well.
- Spray 2 medium coats of Solaray UV Clearcoat allowing 2-3 minute flash time between coats. Allow final coat to flash 5 minutes before exposing to UV light source.
- Cure for 2-3 minutes using Solaray UV Curing Lamp at a distance of 2-3 inches from the surface, or other comparable UV light source.
Note: Required film build of Solaray UV Clearcoat is much less than typical clearcoats. Cure time will vary depending on lamp energy output and footprint.
