Filling concrete with fiberglass putty
Filling concrete is best done with fiberglass putty. For that reason, a fiberglass putty is also called a concrete putty. Because this 2 component polyester putty is fiberglass reinforced, the fiberglass putty can be applied to concrete. Thanks to the polyester in the fiberglass putty, the filler remains elastic which prevents the 2K putty from cracking or breaking.
Flexible putty
Want a flexible putty that won't crack or break after drying? Fiberglass putty is a poly putty that remains flexible because there are fibers in the filler. These glass fibers in the putty ensure that the filler remains a flexible putty; even after curing! This makes a fiberglass putty suitable to use when filling parts, objects or surfaces that vibrate and move along. Think of filling a car bumper, fender, door or door.
Drying time fiberglass putty
Drying time of fiberglass putty depends on temperature, humidity and the thickness with which 2K putty is applied. The hardener ensures the drying of the 2-component putty. Use the following drying time for fiberglass putty as a guide when filling any substrate, part or surface.
- Dust-dry after 20 minutes (at 20 degrees Celsius)
- Sanding putty after 30 minutes (at 20 degrees Celsius)
Use putty on your car?
Use putty on your car? A fiberglass putty is the best 2K putty you can use when filling a car that has rust, corrosion or oxidation on it. The fibers in the 2 component polyester putty provide a powerful bond that can be applied over rust spots on the car. Even though a fiber putty is suitable for this, when car puttying rust, we always recommend sanding or brushing away as much corrosion and oxidation as possible with a wire brush.
Steel boat putty
Filling steel boat with fiberglass putty? The 2 component fiberglass polyester putty is waterproof and water resistant. Because this 2K putty is resistant to water, it is suitable to putty the boat. The boat putty adheres to steel and iron and prevents rust, corrosion and oxidation. After puttying the steel boat, you can sand the fiberglass putty tightly to a smooth surface.
