Painting the engine with heat resistant paint

- A good preparation is half the work! For that reason, clean the engine block with a powerful degreaser so that residual dirt and oil are removed.
- For good adhesion, sanding the engine block is necessary. For this, use P320 or P400 sandpaper. This will immediately remove old paint and any rust from the block.
- Tape surrounding parts and hoses with masking paper and masking tape. This protects against any paint splashes and overspray.
- Apply the first coat of engine block paint in a thin spray. Hold the spray can of heat-resistant paint 20 to 30cm from the surface.
- Let this 1st coat of paint evaporate and dry before applying a second coat of engine block paint until the desired coverage is achieved.
- Has the paint completely covered your engine block? Then let it cure for at least 24 hours before starting the engine again.
