This 2K Epoxy wash primer provides excellent adhesion to various substrates, even MDF panels. Also this 2K Epoxy wash-primer has good etching qualities on all ferrous metals and light alloys.
Some features of the MIPA 2K Epoxy primer-surfacer:
- Highly resistant to corrosion (contains anticorrosive pigments)
- Chromate-free
- Short drying time
- Mixing ratio: 2:1 with MIPA E10 Epoxy activator thinner
- Suitable substrates : Iron and steel, aluminium, sanded galvanized sheet, dried and sanded old paintings.
- Substrate preparation : Clean, dry, free of dust, rust, oil and grease. Sand and clean with Mipa Silikone Remover.
- Application process : Mipa EP-Primer-Filler can be applied through brushing, rolling or spraying (Air/Airless)
- Brushing and rolling: after mixing no dilution is necessary
- Wait 15 min. after the mixing of the two components before use.

Do you need to sand primer
Once the primer is dry, you need to sand it. Sanding the primer smooths the surface and lightly roughens the primer layer. This helps the color car paint or 2K paint adhere better to the primer. If you don’t sand the primer, the paint will not adhere as well to the base coat.

Very good quality Primer
I have already used a MIPA Epoxy Primer Grey can of 1 liter, I liked it very much, it has a very long shelf life, with the right MIPA hardener and a small amount of MIPA thinner it sprays very well with a 1.4 needle, it flows nicely and adheres very well to iron but also aluminum, and it also hardens nicely. It is a very good base for K1 or K2 paints, I am very happy with it.
