2K automotive paint has a long shelf life, provided the hardener hasn’t been mixed into the paint. Once the hardener is mixed with the paint, 2K paint is only usable for 24 hours.
Is bedliner paint comparable to a truck bed coating?
Yes, bedliner paint is also known as a cargo bed coating. Due to its anti-slip texture and wear resistance, 2K paint is used in cargo beds as well.
What gloss level does my car have?
In 99.9% of cases, your car has a high-gloss clear coat. Only a few sports cars and supercars have a matte or satin finish clear coat.
Should clear coat be applied over car paint?
Yes, you should use clear coat over 1K automotive paint to protect the color. When buying clear coat, you have options such as high-gloss, satin, and matte, as well as 1K and 2K. 2K clear coat is the original factory high-gloss finish and is the most commonly chosen varnish.
How many layers of car paint should I apply?
The number of layers of automotive paint you need to apply depends on the coverage of the color. Usually, 3 layers are sufficient. However, for lighter color paints that have less coverage, we recommend applying an additional layer of color until you achieve the desired result.
How long should car paint cure?
The curing time for automotive paint depends on temperature, humidity, and layer thickness. At higher temperatures, the curing process is faster compared to lower temperatures. Additionally, 1K automotive paint dries faster than 2K automotive paint.

Can clear coat be applied over 2K paint?
Yes, you can spray clear coat over 2K paint. If you want to provide extra protection to your 2K paint, you can apply 2K clear coat over it. However, this is not necessary because 2K paint already contains hardener.
Do I need to order hardener and thinner?
Yes, polyester resin paint can be thinned with thinner or our special hardener/thinner for polyester resin paint.
What is the drying time for car paint?
The drying time of automotive paint is determined by 3 factors: layer thickness, temperature, and humidity. We recommend monitoring this yourself until the paint is dust-dry. Once this is the case, the paint can be over-sprayed with clear coat or handled!
