CROP Etch Primer spray
Etch Primer spray from CROP is a fast drying adhesion primer for aluminum, iron, zinc and steel. This primer for non ferrous metal has a rock-solid adhesion and is quickly repaintable with 2K lacquer, base coat and types of paint. In addition to fantastic adhesion, this etch primer leaves an anti-corrosion protective layer on aluminum that keeps the metal beautiful for a long time. Thanks to this etch primer spray, you can easily etch metal and aluminum!
Etching primer
Etching primer is known for its strong adhesion to aluminum and metal. In addition, this self-etching primer ensures that moisture is drawn away from aluminum and seals the metal immediately. After the etch primer dries, it leaves an anti corrosion protection layer on the aluminum. This keeps the non ferrous metal rust and corrosion free for a long time.
Aluminum primer
Aluminum primer is a special primer for non ferrous metal. This CROP primer for aluminum creates durable adhesion and protection against corrosion. Spraying aluminum in etch primer also gives the metal long-lasting protection against rust, moisture, salt and water. In short, this spray etch primer is considered the best aluminum primer in spray!
How to spray etch primer?
CROP etch primer is easy to spray in a few simple steps. To properly apply etching primer to aluminum, follow the steps below.
- Degrease the surface before spraying the etch primer. Use CROP Silicone Remover to do this.
- Sand the surface to improve adhesion. Use grit P220 for this purpose.
- Clean the material again with the degreaser.
- Shake the spray can well before use.
- Spray 2 to 3 coats of etch primer with a spraying distance of 20 to 30cm. Between coats, pause for 3 to 5 minutes.
- After the last coat, let the primer dry for 30 minutes at 20°C. After this the anti-rust primer is repaintable with 1K or 2K lacquer.
- Using the etching primer next time? Turn the aerosol can and spray the nozzle empty until only propellant comes out. Now the suction tube and spray cap are clean, ready for the next use!

How do you remove adhesive residues
Are there adhesive residues on your car from a sticker or car wrap? Removing adhesive residues from the car can be tricky without damaging the paint. To remove adhesive residues without scratching, it’s best to use a caramel wheel. This is a rubber grinding wheel specifically designed to remove adhesive residues without damaging the car paint
How much can I spray with a spray can?
A 400ml spray can covers approximately 1.5 to 2 m², depending on the material porosity and layer thickness. For larger projects or multiple layers, we recommend accounting for an extra 10% to ensure you don't run out halfway through.
Do you need to sand primer
Once the primer is dry, you need to sand it. Sanding the primer smooths the surface and lightly roughens the primer layer. This helps the color car paint or 2K paint adhere better to the primer. If you don’t sand the primer, the paint will not adhere as well to the base coat.
How long is a 2K spray can usable after activation?
24 hours. After activating the 2K spray can, the two components will mix, starting the curing process, making the spray can usable for 24 hours.
