Car Paint - base coat in can
Car Paint base-coat in can is the most professional car paint made to order. This 1K car paint is a base coat mixed by color code or color name, making it 100% colorfast with the original paint of the car brand, motorcycle brand or RAL color. The CROP 1K car lacquer in can is ready to spray, has high coverage, dries quickly and is re-sprayable with 2K clear coat. This professional spray paint is suitable for any paint sprayer.
Car paint by color
Buy car paint by color based on the original code? At CROP you can use the color configurator to order canned car paint that 100% matches the paint on your car. Based on the car make, model and color group, you choose the right can of spray paint for your car. Is the color code or name of your car paint not listed? Then enter it freely so we can still make the car paint for you.
Canned pearlescent and metallic car paint
Buy canned pearlescent or metallic car paint? At CROP you can order any metallic color or pearlescent paint by its original number. The metallic paint contains silver particles that create a beautiful glitter effect. Do you want to spray a pearlescent lacquer? Then note that it consists of several layers; also called a 3-layer system. Because of the bright effect of mother-of-pearl, you need to spray a special pre-color (layer 1). This is followed by spraying the mother-of-pearl paint that creates the effect (layer 2). Finally, you spray the pearl effect lacquer with 2K clear coat (layer 3).
Spraying car paint with 2K clear coat
Because basecoat is a 1-component paint, you need to spray this car paint with 2K clear coat. A 2-component clearcoat provides the best protection against UV sunlight, scratches, all weather influences, gasoline, chemicals and salt. In addition to lacquer protection, the clear coat also provides the gloss level. High gloss clearcoat is used on almost all cars. Prefer matte automotive clearcoat? Spray the base coat with 2K clearcoat matt.
Supplied ready to spray!
Our canned basecoat car paint is delivered ready to spray. This means that you do not have to dilute the paint yourself and the paint is ready for use. Our colorist mixes the basecoat to color according to the original color code or name using the correct paint pigments. All that's left to do is stir the lacquer before use!

How can I find my car's color code?
The color code of your car is on the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). This is a sticker or plate in the car. The location varies depending on the make and model. Common locations include: driver’s door, under the hood, and in the trunk (near the spare tire). If you can’t find it, check the manual or contact the dealer.
How do I use a spray can?
Before using a spray can, make sure to shake it well. When spraying with a spray can, always work in a space that is at room temperature. The spray can itself should also be at room temperature.
How much can I spray with a spray can?
A 400ml spray can covers approximately 1.5 to 2 m², depending on the material porosity and layer thickness. For larger projects or multiple layers, we recommend accounting for an extra 10% to ensure you don't run out halfway through.
Should clear coat be applied over car paint?
Yes, you should use clear coat over 1K automotive paint to protect the color. When buying clear coat, you have options such as high-gloss, satin, and matte, as well as 1K and 2K. 2K clear coat is the original factory high-gloss finish and is the most commonly chosen varnish.
How many layers of car paint should I apply?
The number of layers of automotive paint you need to apply depends on the coverage of the color. Usually, 3 layers are sufficient. However, for lighter color paints that have less coverage, we recommend applying an additional layer of color until you achieve the desired result.
How long should car paint cure?
The curing time for automotive paint depends on temperature, humidity, and layer thickness. At higher temperatures, the curing process is faster compared to lower temperatures. Additionally, 1K automotive paint dries faster than 2K automotive paint.
What is the drying time for car paint?
The drying time of automotive paint is determined by 3 factors: layer thickness, temperature, and humidity. We recommend monitoring this yourself until the paint is dust-dry. Once this is the case, the paint can be over-sprayed with clear coat or handled!
How much car paint do I need?
This depends on the size of the damage, the type of paint, the surface, and your spraying technique. For a small panel like a mirror cap, you'll need approximately 100–150 ml; for a door handle or trim, about 100 ml; for a bumper corner or fender, around 200–300 ml; for an entire bumper, 400–500 ml; and for a full door or hood, approximately 500–700 ml. For a full respray of the car, this can add up to around 3–4 liters, depending on the color and coverage. We always recommend calculating 10% extra to ensure you don’t run out halfway through.
