Is metallic paint stronger?

Metallic paint is not stronger than solid paint (uni-lacquer) and does not offer better protection against scratches, despite the addition of metallic particles. Since metallic paint is only available in 1K car paint, it does not contain a hardener and must always be finished with a clear coat. We recommend using a 2K clear coat with 1K paint so that the finish becomes as strong as 2K car paint, which does contain a hardener. The advantage of 2K car paint is that it does not require a clear coat because the paint itself is already strong due to the hardener.
