Is metallic paint better?

Metallic paint is not better than solid paint and does not offer better scratch protection, despite the metal particles it contains. Since metallic paint is only available in 1K car paint, it does not contain a hardener and must always be finished with a clear coat. We recommend using a 2K clear coat for an optimal finish, so the paint achieves the same strength as 2K car paint, which does contain a hardener. The advantage of 2K car paint is that it does not require a clear coat, as the paint itself is strong enough due to the hardener.
