BRUNOX® Epoxy is the patented rust remediation system based on epoxy resin. BRUNOX ® Epoxy penetrates 7 to 10 times deeper than traditional rust converters. The cognac-coloured clear liquid forms with the neutralized rust layer a metal organic iron compound. The black, very compact and resistant protective layer which is formed gives a protection against corrosion for a longer period of time and is at the same time a very good substrate constituents into the epoxy resin. The product is excellent for rust on machinery, vehicles and other metal objects to form. Thanks to the very high penetration into the rust and good film formation (no brush marks) ensures an efficient and convenient processing.
Remove loose rust, grease, dirt, and rusted paint residue with a wire brush, grinder or sandpaper. Bring BRUNOX® Epoxy in 2 or 3 layers on the remaining porous rust with a brush, roller, air spray, or the CFC-free BRUNOX® Epoxy spray. BRUNOX® Epoxy is great for dipping and pouring of hollow articles. After the treatment, a coating layer is to be applied, for example, a top coating.
So, it is a rust stabilizer and a primer coat and is excellent for removing rust machinery, vehicles and other metal objects. How do I use a spray can?
Before using a spray can, make sure to shake it well. When spraying with a spray can, always work in a space that is at room temperature. The spray can itself should also be at room temperature.
How much can I spray with a spray can?
A 400ml spray can covers approximately 1.5 to 2 m², depending on the material porosity and layer thickness. For larger projects or multiple layers, we recommend accounting for an extra 10% to ensure you don't run out halfway through.
Do you need primer over rust converter?
No, no primer is needed over a rust converter. As the name suggests, it encapsulates and transforms the rust into a primer-like layer, preventing further rusting of the surface. You can directly apply car paint, 2K paint, or a coating over a rust converter.
