Rust-Oleum Metal Expert Rust Remover Gel
Rust-Oleum Metal Expert Rust Remover Gel
The Metal Expert Rust Remover Gel from Rust-Oleum is a gel that is suitable for the safe and effective removal of rust down to bare metal. The formula does not drip or run and will not affect existing paintwork. It is ideal for vertical surfaces and difficult profiles. Apply the gel directly to the rust.
How do I use the Rust-Oleum Metal Expert Rust Remover Gel?
- Remove really loose rust with a steel brush and test in an inconspicuous area first.
- Make sure the surface is completely degreased and dry to avoid adhesion problems.
- Stir well and apply the gel with a brush. Allow the product to work well and completely penetrate all rusted areas. Completely cover the surrounding areas to prevent residues or coatings from discolouring if they come into contact with the gel during use.
- Leave for 30 minutes. Remove the gel and repeat if necessary until the rust is gone.
- Clean the surface with a wire brush under running water.

Do you need primer over rust converter?
No, no primer is needed over a rust converter. As the name suggests, it encapsulates and transforms the rust into a primer-like layer, preventing further rusting of the surface. You can directly apply car paint, 2K paint, or a coating over a rust converter.
