MIPA F54 2K-HS-Grundierfiller Primer is an easy sandable 2K-primer-surfacer of excellent filling power, high protection against corrosion and good adhesion, to be used for the car refinishing sector. Spot repairs can be carried out without the filler sinking or the build up of edges. Available in 4 colours: grey, yellow, dark-grey, black and white.
Some characteristics of the 4:1 high solid primer:
- High persistence
- Good filling capacity
- Chromate-free
- Good isolating properties
- Coat thickness / dry film 60 - 180 μm
- Curing time / Flash off time 15 min.
- Dry:
- sandable (by 1 coat finishing painting use either sanding paper P 400 dry or P 600 wet, by 2-coat finishing painting either the sanding paper P 500 dry or P 800 wet is recommended)
- Object Temp. 20° C after approx. 3 - 5 h
- Object Temp. 60° C after approx. 30 - 40 min - Because of the good flow you do not have to sand and also no pores and blisters arise
- Available in 4 litre container so that it can be placed in the mixing machine
This 4:1 primer and undercoat can be used in 2 different application possibilities:
- Filling primer
- Primer-surfacer: if desired dilute 5% to 10% with 2K universal 1-2-3 thinner
By spraying of new cars in the factory even more dark soil materials will be processed for better opacity.

Do you need to sand primer
Once the primer is dry, you need to sand it. Sanding the primer smooths the surface and lightly roughens the primer layer. This helps the color car paint or 2K paint adhere better to the primer. If you don’t sand the primer, the paint will not adhere as well to the base coat.
