MIPA Auto Spray grey acrylic primer in spray can
MIPA Auto Spray is a fast drying grey acrylic primer that is suitable as an undercoat to aid the adhesion of the subsequent paint coat. The grey acrylic primer is ideal as an undercoat for most colours, metallic shades and 2K paint. In addition, it is a filling primer that fills in small dents, scratches and other small irregularities. This acrylic primer is particularly easy to use and quick drying, so you can finish the job quickly!
Sanding after priming
Sanding after priming leaves the surface smooth and suave. You can sand the primer with P400, followed by P500 and/or P600. Do you prefer wet sanding? Then you start with P600, followed by P800 and P1000. This MIPA grey acrylic primer dries in 30 minutes, after which you can sand it. After sanding, you can proceed to the next coat.
How to apply the grey primer?
Follow the step-by-step plan below on how best to apply it. This MIPA Auto Spray grey acrylic primer is known as an easy-to-spray primer.
- Shake the can vigorously before use until you hear the mixing beads move freely.
- Use at temperatures between 15 and 25ºC.
- Maintain a spray distance of 20-30 cm from the surface.
- Spray 2 to 3 full coats of primer.
- Allow 5 minutes of evaporation time between coats.
- After the last coat, you must allow the product to harden.
- Finished with the spray? Turn the can upside down and press the nozzle until only the propellant comes out. Now the nozzle is clean and you can store the remaining product.

How do you remove adhesive residues
Are there adhesive residues on your car from a sticker or car wrap? Removing adhesive residues from the car can be tricky without damaging the paint. To remove adhesive residues without scratching, it’s best to use a caramel wheel. This is a rubber grinding wheel specifically designed to remove adhesive residues without damaging the car paint
How much can I spray with a spray can?
A 400ml spray can covers approximately 1.5 to 2 m², depending on the material porosity and layer thickness. For larger projects or multiple layers, we recommend accounting for an extra 10% to ensure you don't run out halfway through.
Do you need to sand primer
Once the primer is dry, you need to sand it. Sanding the primer smooths the surface and lightly roughens the primer layer. This helps the color car paint or 2K paint adhere better to the primer. If you don’t sand the primer, the paint will not adhere as well to the base coat.
