How does a 2K spray can work?
2 Pack describes coatings that require a hardener, catalyst or activator, which is commonly used in car body shops. Once it hardens, it provides a much stronger substrate less susceptible to damage from chemicals, weather, abrasion or UV rays. Please follow the instructions below.
- Shake well before use (approximately 2 minutes).
- Simply take the red button from the cap and attach it to the pin on the bottom of the can.
- Put the top of the can on stable ground and push the red button firmly and press the pin into the can.
- Shake again for two minutes to ensure activator is thoroughly mixed with clearcoat.
- After activated, this product will last approximately 24 hours.

A 400ml spray can covers approximately 1.5 to 2 m², depending on the material porosity and layer thickness. For larger projects or multiple layers, we recommend accounting for an extra 10% to ensure you don't run out halfway through.
How long is 2K car paint shelf life?
2K automotive paint has a long shelf life, provided the hardener hasn’t been mixed into the paint. Once the hardener is mixed with the paint, 2K paint is only usable for 24 hours.
How many layers of car paint should I apply?
The number of layers of automotive paint you need to apply depends on the coverage of the color. Usually, 3 layers are sufficient. However, for lighter color paints that have less coverage, we recommend applying an additional layer of color until you achieve the desired result.
How long should car paint cure?
The curing time for automotive paint depends on temperature, humidity, and layer thickness. At higher temperatures, the curing process is faster compared to lower temperatures. Additionally, 1K automotive paint dries faster than 2K automotive paint.
Can clear coat be applied over 2K paint?
Yes, you can spray clear coat over 2K paint. If you want to provide extra protection to your 2K paint, you can apply 2K clear coat over it. However, this is not necessary because 2K paint already contains hardener.
What is the drying time for car paint?
The drying time of automotive paint is determined by 3 factors: layer thickness, temperature, and humidity. We recommend monitoring this yourself until the paint is dust-dry. Once this is the case, the paint can be over-sprayed with clear coat or handled!
How long is a 2K spray can usable after activation?
24 hours. After activating the 2K spray can, the two components will mix, starting the curing process, making the spray can usable for 24 hours.

These spray cans are perfect. I have always mixed 2K paint and sprayed with the compressor but this is much easier and the paint covers very well. Good spray result.
