• Bare steel
• Galvanized steel
• Aluminium
• Cured 2K fillers
• Old paint layers

How does the 2-component SprayMax Epoxy Primer work?

For best adhesion and application of this SprayMax 2-component primer, we advise you to perform the following steps first. We also like to explain how a 2-component spray can works. This will ensure the best adhesion and processing of the 2K filler.

• Derust the damaged area and clean it thoroughly with SprayMax Silicone Remover in spray can, so that the parts to be treated are free of grease and dust.
• Before starting, shake the 2K aerosol can well for 3 minutes. Next, remove the red push button from the cap and place it squarely on the pin at the bottom of the 2-component spray can. Then press it vigorously and again shake the aerosol can for 3 minutes to allow both components to mix and start the hardening process. After mixing the two components, the prepared 2K lacquer has a shelf life of 24 hours. Depending on environmental factors (temperature) this may be longer or shorter.

How do I spray the 2-component Epoxy Filler?

After activating the two-components, we recommend following the guidelines below to properly spray this two-component primer.

• Spraying distance: 10 to 15 cm
• Number of layers: 2 (approx. 70 μm)
• Evaporation time between layers: 5 to 10 minutes
• Dust-dry: 15 minutes at 20°C
• Can be handled: 5 hours at 20°C
• Sandable: 12 hours at 20°C or 30 minutes at 60°C object temperature.
• After drying recoatable with standard one-pack or two-pack acrylic paints
• If the 2K Epoxy Primer is oversprayed only after 3 days, the primer should be lightly sanded.
• The 2K Epoxy Primer is fillable with a 2K putty or 2K Spray putty after 12 hours / 20°C or 30 minutes at 60°C object temperature.
• For wet-on-wet application: with all 1K Basecoats and 2K Topcoat Systems after 25-30 min drying at 20°C or after 15-20 min with infrared drying.

Processing time:

• Approximately 96 hours at 20°C

• After spraying, we recommend that you turn the spray can upside down and empty the built-in suction tube.
