Is a primer necessary?

Primer is needed to make sure the paint adheres to the surface. However, when you want to spray this paint on existing paint that is already in good condition, it is not needed to use a primer. Not sure whether an adhesion promotor is necessary? We recommend to always use it. Sand any chipped paint first and apply a primer for a better adhesion.
