3M Strip Calk for filling gaps
3M Strip Calk is a soft butyl rubber caulking material that quickly and permanently fills all types of seams, joints and openings – long-lasting auto body maintenance and repair in much less time. Simply thumb 1-foot lengths into place without spraying or tools, and smooth it with a finger. Strip-Calk is paintable immediately and never hardens, shrinks or becomes brittle, eliminating rework.

With its durable butyl rubber construction and permanently-pliable formula, 3M Strip-Calk is ideal for filling non-visible automotive joints, seams, voids and gaps. This thumb-grade seam sealer arrives ready to install without mixing, spraying or tools. It thumbs in quickly and smooths with a fingertip. And its high heat resistance also makes it suitable for applications including engine compartment seams and firewalls.
Can be painted with any car paint
The strips can be painted immediately with any car paint. After filling gaps in the body, it can be sprayed directly with a primer or 2K paint for an invisible repair.

- Sealing seams and gaps in bodywork: Use these sealing strips to waterproof and dustproof bodywork seams, for example around doors, trunk lids, or in the engine compartment. The sealant remains flexible and is paintable later, which is handy for restoration or repair.
- Temporary or permanent seal that must be paintable: If you need a seal that you want to be able to paint over later in the color of the substrate, then these strips are a good choice. They adhere well to various materials and form a durable, yet malleable barrier.
- Less suitable for sealing under high pressure or constant movement: For seals that are under constant high pressure or have to accommodate a lot of movement, such as with vibrating engine parts, these sealant strips are less suitable. In that case, choose a liquid gasket or a specific silicone sealant.
