Hammerite Anti Rust primer for priming rusted metal and bare iron. This anti-rust primer from Hammerite is a primer that stops rust and has an anti-corrosion effect that prevents metal from rusting. Because the primer is thick, the anti-rust primer also fills irregularities such as dents, scratches and cracks so that the surface is even. Hammerite anti-rust primer cannot be used on non-ferrous metals (zinc, aluminum and galvanized steel).

How to use Hammerite Anti rust primer?

Hammerite Anti Rust primer can be applied directly over rusted metal or iron that is untreated and bare. Hammerite Anti rust primer is easy to use with a paint roller or brush. Use the steps below on how to use Hammerite Anti Rust primer.

1. Remove paint and rust that is loose.
2. Clean the surface with Hammerite metal degreaser.
3. Lightly sand the surface and clean it again with degreaser.
4. Stir the Hammerite Anti Rust for at least 2 minutes.
5. Apply the 2 coats of Hammerite Anti Rust primer with a brush or roller.
6. Let it dry for at least 4 hours to paint another coat.
7. Be sure to treat pitted rust spots extra well.
8. After 24 hours Hammerite Menie is repaintable with metal paint, alkyd paint or acrylic paint.
