How to apply an underbody coating?
In 5 steps, you can easily apply the underbody coating yourself. To apply the bodyschutz, you need an undercoating spray gun. Follow the steps below on how best to spray the UBC.
- Make sure the undercoating gun is at room temperature. Here, a processing temperature of 15 to 30°C is best.
- Because of the High Solid quality and because heavy pigments in the coating sink to the bottom, it is important to shake the canister very well for at least 5 minutes. This mixes all components well together and makes the coating more fluid.
- Screw the bodyschutz gun onto the bottom canister and set the working pressure between 3 and 5 bar. A higher spray pressure results in a more fine texture.
- Apply 1 coat of bodyschutz. Do you want to spray another coat? Then wait 5 minutes before applying the second coat.
- After 45 minutes at 20 degrees Celsius, the underbody coating is repaintable with 2K lacquer or primer.
