Stainless Steel Metallic appearance & durable protection.
Rust-Oleum 2116 Stainless Steel Metallic Coating provides a metallic appearance and durable protection to be applied over Rust-Oleum Hard Hat Primers or properly prepared painted substrates. Ideal for maintenance and touch-up jobs in industrial environments. Greater abrasion resistance, better anti-corrosion properties than other metallic and an excellent UV resistance (does not discolour). Resists acids, chemicals and alkalis.
GO FURTHER!
More paint in the can, resulting in a higher coverage. One HARD HAT® aerosol equals up to 2-3 standard aerosols.
WORK QUICKER!
A higher film build without drips or runs, in one go Twice the opacity of cheaper paint sprays (saving a cross layer). Normal coverage in one pass. Quicker drying: 10-15 minutes!

How much can I spray with a spray can?
A 400ml spray can covers approximately 1.5 to 2 m², depending on the material porosity and layer thickness. For larger projects or multiple layers, we recommend accounting for an extra 10% to ensure you don't run out halfway through.
Should clear coat be applied over car paint?
Yes, you should use clear coat over 1K automotive paint to protect the color. When buying clear coat, you have options such as high-gloss, satin, and matte, as well as 1K and 2K. 2K clear coat is the original factory high-gloss finish and is the most commonly chosen varnish.
How many layers of car paint should I apply?
The number of layers of automotive paint you need to apply depends on the coverage of the color. Usually, 3 layers are sufficient. However, for lighter color paints that have less coverage, we recommend applying an additional layer of color until you achieve the desired result.
How long should car paint cure?
The curing time for automotive paint depends on temperature, humidity, and layer thickness. At higher temperatures, the curing process is faster compared to lower temperatures. Additionally, 1K automotive paint dries faster than 2K automotive paint.
What is the drying time for car paint?
The drying time of automotive paint is determined by 3 factors: layer thickness, temperature, and humidity. We recommend monitoring this yourself until the paint is dust-dry. Once this is the case, the paint can be over-sprayed with clear coat or handled!
