Brush cleaning

Finished painting metal? It is important that you clean paint brushes properly and store them carefully. Scrape as much paint off your brushes as possible, put the paint can on the table and then you can "empty" the brushes. You do this by passing the brush along the edge several times. Obviously, brush cleaner is also suitable for cleaning paint rollers.

Thinning metal paint

You can paint metal in different ways, with a paint brush/roller or a paint sprayer. Rust-Oleum offers a wide range of metal paint for all metals. Want to spray Rust-Oleum metal paint with a paint sprayer? Use the special thinner to thin your metal paint. This will make the metal paint thinner so you can apply it with a paint sprayer.

How can I spray metal paint with a paint sprayer?

1. Use a mixing cup to thin metal paint.
2. Mix 2 parts metal paint and up to 1 part thinner.
3. Set the bar rating of the paint sprayer between 25/35psi (about 2 bar) and the spray jet at full beam width.
4. Spray Rustoleum metal paint in 3 to 4 coats.
5. Keep a break of up to one hour between spray coats.
6. The last coat of paint should be thick enough to allow the paint to flow to a smooth surface.
