PPG Rapid Build 2K HS Car Paint Primer

PPG 2K Rapid-Build Primer is a high quality car primer that is easy to apply with high coverage properties. Versatile, easy to apply and sand, the car primer offers excellent film build, surface levelling and gloss holdout over a wide range of substrates such as sound original paintwork, bare steel, polyester body fillers and suitable adhesion primers. Available in white, grey and dark grey.

Drying PPG 2K Rapid Build Car Primer

The drying time of PPG Primer depends on various factors such as paint layer thickness, temperature and humidity.

• At 20°C:
  • With a fast hardener: 1,5 hours
  • With a standard hardener: 2,5 hours
  • With a slow hardener: 3 hours
• At 60°C:
  • With a fast hardener: 15 minutes
  • With a standard hardener: 20 minutes
  • With a slow hardener: 30 minutes
• Through dry at IR: 10 to 15 minutes

Sand after priming the surface

After PPG 2K Primer has cured, you will need to sand the surface.

• Spray-gun nozzle: 1,8mm - 2mm
• Number of coats: 3
• Flash-off time at 20°C between coats: 3 to 5 minutes
• Application viscosity at 20°C: 32 to 38 seconds DIN4
• Potlife at 20°C: 30 to 40 minutes

PPG Activator & Thinner

This product must always be used with the corresponding paint hardener and thinner. The mixing ratio of activator and thinner with PPG HS Primer is 4:1:1.
