MIRKA Polarshine Marine Shield is a high-performance ceramic coating and protects gelcoat surfaces from UV radiation, salt water, oxidation, acid rain, bird droppings and other contaminants. The ceramic coating repels dirt and resists detergents. The surfactant components prevent water droplets from adhering to the surface.

Water beading

The ceramic coating uses ceramic Si02 nanotechnology to seal pores of gelcoat surfaces, water beads off the paint and does not stay on the boat. Si02 technology forms a durable shield and helps protect against water droplets, sunlight and more for up to a year.

How do I use MIRKA's ceramic coating?

1. Before treatment, wash the boat with Mirka Polarshine Marine Boat Wash. The use of Mirka Polarshine Marine Deep Clean concentrate is recommended to remove stuck-on dirt. Make sure the surface is free of oxidation.
2. For polishing residues, use Mirka Polarshine Final Finish.
3. Make sure the surface is clean before applying the ceramic coating. The surface should be damp but not wet. Spray the coating directly onto the area to be treated. Work a small area at a time with a microfiber applicator pad to ensure a smooth result finish. Carefully work along all areas to be treated.
4. Rinse the surfaces thoroughly with a pressure washer and wipe with a soft microfiber cloth.
5. Repeat the above steps to ensure the coating is evenly distributed.
6. Rinse the surface thoroughly with water to remove excess coating.
7. Finally, allow the coating to cure for at least 12 hours (+5°C to +30°C in dry air).
