Koch Chemie Clay Pad is used for cleaning and refining automotive paintwork. The spongy pad removes stubborn dirt, contaminants and oxidation from car paint without scratching.

Clay lubricant

Using a clay lubricant during car claying has several advantages. It allows you to ensure effective cleaning of car paintwork, at the same time minimizing the risk of surface damage. A clay lubricant reduces friction, prevents sticking, preserves the clay and improves results.

Car Claying

Car claying with a clay pad combined with a polisher is a great technique for removing stubborn dirt and contaminants from car paint. Follow the steps below for effective cleaning.

1. Clean the car thoroughly by washing it with car shampoo and drying it with a microfiber cloth (make sure your car is in the shade and the surface is cool to the touch).
2. Attach the clay pad to the polisher.
3. Apply clay lubricant to ensure a smooth and gliding motion.
4. Turn the polisher on at low to medium speed and move the clay pad evenly over the surface of the car with light pressure. Work in sections.
5. Periodically check the clay pad for contamination and turn it over or replace it if necessary to avoid rubbing dirt back onto the surface of the car.
6. After the entire car is clayed, rinse the car with clean water to remove any remaining clay residue.
7. After claying, you can polish the vehicle. Then you can apply car wax to protect car paint and give a deep shine.
