- Finishing wooden doors, furniture, or tabletops: With 400 grit, you evenly finish a sanded surface before lacquering or oiling. The strip covers a large area and works faster than sanding by hand.
- Lightly sanding the gelcoat of a boat or camper: For mattifying gelcoat before a new coat of paint, 400 grit is safe enough. You remove imperfections without sanding directly through the top layer, provided you keep the machine moving.
- Less suitable for removing old paint layers: 400 grit removes hardly any material. If you need to remove an old lacquer or paint layer first, start with a coarse grit such as 40 or 60 and only finish with this strip.
