Wallpaper stripping knife
A stabbing knife is a useful tool during wallpapering because it can be used to remove old wallpaper, peel off wallpaper residue, fill seams and lift wallpaper edges. Sometimes wallpaper edges can become loose or curl over during application. A stabbing knife can be used to gently lift and smooth these edges so that they stay back in place.
Putty knife
Is a stabbing knife the same as a putty knife? Despite both tools having and similar design, they are often used for different applications. We list the main differences:
- A stabbing knife is usually used for removing old material, a putty knife for applying putty.
- A stabbing knife has a thin blade that ends in a sharp edge, a putty knife has a wider and more rectangular blade.
- A stabbing knife may have a stiffer blade, while a putty knife has a flexible blade.
