Grit
Grit size indicates how coarse or fine the sandpaper is.
A low grit (e.g., P40–P80) is coarse and suitable for quickly removing material, such as paint or rust. A medium grit (e.g., P100–P320) is ideal for smoothing surfaces and preparing for further finishing. A high grit (e.g., P320 and higher) is fine and is used for sanding between coats and achieving a smooth final result. |

When is this sandpaper suitable for you?
Read more Read less
- Machine wet sanding of paint: If you want to machine-sand away paint defects such as orange peel or deeper scratches, the P1500 grit is a good starting point. The result is an even sanding pattern that is easy to polish.
- Preparation for polishing after sanding: After using coarser grits, for example P1000, this P1500 disc ensures a finer finish. This makes the transition to the polishing phase easier and shortens the polishing time.
- Less suitable for manual sanding: Although technically possible, this sandpaper is primarily designed for machine use. For manual sanding of lacquer, other abrasives are often more efficient and provide a more controlled result.
