Rust-Oleum Anti Rust Primer is a fast drying water based primer. This Rust-Oleum anti-rust primer is a primer that stops rust and has an anti-corrosion effect that prevents metal from rusting.

Rust primer

Rust primer can be applied directly over rust after which the primer ensures the adhesion of new metal paint. This rust primer from Rust-Oleum works as a rust stopper and prevents further expansion of corrosion or oxidation in the future. The rust primer is lead-, chromate- and zinc-free. Gray is for light-colored coatings and red for darker coatings.

Water-based primer

Water-based primer is the counterpart of turpentine-based primer. Water-based primer is suitable for many applications and substrates, both indoors and outdoors. Below we list the biggest advantages, waterborne paint is:

How do I use CombiColor Aqua Anti Rust Primer?

Remove oil, grease and all other contaminants by alkaline or high pressure (steam) cleaning in combination with suitable agents. Remove rust crusts, loose rust, loose roller skin and loose paint layers by scraper and/or wire brush. Sand intact old paint layers to ensure good adhesion

1. Stir the Anti Rust Primer for at least 2 minutes.
2. Apply 2 coats of primer with a brush or roller (thinning is possible up to 10% with water).
3. Let it dry for at least 4 hours before painting another coat.
4. Be sure to treat pitted rust spots extra well.
5. After 24 hours the primer is repaintable with metal paint, alkyd paint or acrylic paint.
