Koch Chemie Ceramic Boat Hull
Koch Chemie Ceramic Boat Hull is a ceramic coating specially optimized for saltwater environments and developed for gel coats and boat paints. This ceramic coating is primarily applied to the boat hull above the waterline to provide long-term protection against weathering. The ceramic coating acts as a hydrophobic protective sealant for boats, yachts and watercraft. Thanks to a chemical reaction, the very thin, transparent and stable coating permanently adheres to the surface. This not only ensures lasting protection, but also visibly increases the gloss and smoothness of the boat.
Ceramic coating boat
A ceramic coating for the boat provides long-term protection against salt, UV radiation and other weathering factors. The transparent layer creates a strong hydrophobic effect, allowing water and dirt to run off the surface like beads (water beading). This reduces deposits of algae and salt crystals and makes maintenance much easier. The chemical bond with the gelcoat or lacquer provides a durable bond that does not easily wear off. In addition, the coating enhances the color and depth of the varnish, visibly improving the gloss of the hull. As a result, the surface feels extra smooth, which reduces resistance from water.
Boat polishing
Before applying the ceramic coating, it is recommended that you first carefully polish your vessel with Koch Chemie's specially developed Marine Gelcoat line. This pretreatment removes old contaminants, light scratches and oxidation, leaving the surface completely clean and even. Polishing also opens microscopic pores in the boat paint, allowing the coating to bind chemically for optimal adhesion. Without this step, the ceramic coating may bond inadequately or unevenly, reducing durability and hydrophobicity. A perfectly polished gelcoat also prevents aftermath of trapped dirt and improves the final shine. Thus, you guarantee maximum protection and a mirror-like result that lasts longer.
