The fibers of a round paintbrush have a high capacity and paint absorption that makes applying paint more controllable. The thin thread around the brush holds the bristles together.

Painting

When do I use a brush and when do I use a paint roller? Both paint brushes and rollers are used to apply paint to a surface. Your choice depends heavily on what you want to paint. For a surface with awkward spots, edges, cabinets, doors, frames, chairs and tables, it is best to use a paint brush. With a paint roller you can paint larger jobs and use for large areas.
