Carbon brushes?

Carbon brushes are found in most electric hand machines, vacuum cleaners, motors, generators and alternators. They ensure that the rotating part of the motor (the rotor) always maintains electrical contact with the static part of the motor (the stator). Carbon brushes wear during use and are therefore a common cause of malfunctions where the motor no longer wants to run. Replacement of the carbon brushes is easy to do yourself and your machine can last a long time!

How do I know that the carbon brush is the problem?

• Engine fails or does not work
• Sparks
• Crackling sound.

Open the device and inspect the carbon brushes. If these are worn down to about half an inch, this is the cause of the malfunction. Worn carbon brushes cause around 95% of malfunctions with electric hand tools!
